Oxa: thanks for the comment and your previous one from the other day ... that and Brian's post got me thinking on this.

From the OpenID perspective I think there are a few myths to over come (namely the information about OpenID in the FAQ - OpenID can do limited profile exchange). Technically speaking this isn't a difficult problem and the integration with OpenID is pretty simple. I would like to see whatever solution that is cooked up with the ability to a) integrate with existing OpenID providers and b) delegate my contact information and social network from my OpenID provider. In the case of b) I could say "Yes, this is me here at this URL but my contact information and social network is over THERE".

The community at Microformats.org have taken up the issue of Social
Network Portability (http://microformats.org/wiki/social-network-portability ) as well.

Because OpenID is involved in the conversation (and rightly so), I hope that you can encourage people from the OpenID community to get involved. Particularly of note, I think someone more technically savvy may need to clarify the role of persona's in the interchange of data during the OpenID process.

OpenID is not driving the process so far, and they may end up producing a microformat that ignores what OpenID could contribute if the right people aren't involved. It would be sad to have such a great authentication solution left out of the mix.
