Internationalization Coming
We’ve had quite a few inquiries on the OpenID general mailing list from folks wanting to translate openid.net to their native languages as well as start building communities around OpenID in their countries. We’re already seeing some progress on the wiki.
OpenID is starting to take off and its winning on its own merits; its simple, easy-to-use, easy-to-implement and most importantly its decentralized. Its the decentralized nature that makes OpenID compelling for users, sites, communities and even vendors. There is no mother ship in the decentralized world of OpenID. This means a level playing field for everybody that is taking part in it. Finally user-centric identity is within our grasp and seeing the enthusiasm of these people wanting to translate and spread the good word about OpenID is just fantastic.
So I tip my hat to Kay Lee, Takatsugu Shigeta and Robert Moa for leading the way in your respective countries and helping in making this platform really take off. The next time you’re in Portland, OR make sure you stop by the JanRain World Headquarters so I can buy you a beer … :-)
